David Jetre Resume

I was raised to embrace the idea of the Renaissance Man—the polymath: master of many things. To this end I try to be as broad in mind as in ability.
As a Writer
I have been writing my entire life and consequently have a vault of material personal, critical, analytical, mathematical and commercial. With regard to film properties, I have somewhere now in the neighborhood of 350 intellectual properties. Of those, I have six finished scripts with another fifteen near completion.
I can write anything and in any genre or era. It is fair to note I prefer action/adventure, mythic/historic, science fiction, fantasy, and superhero themes.
I focus on unique plots, highly intelligent and articulate characters, twists and revelations and clever, elevated dialog. Though stylized, I completely embrace the heroic theme and braid my work with innovative action sequences, adventure, mystery and stunning climaxes.
As a Director
The bulk of my directorial work has been corporate and industrial videos, short films, animations, music videos and commercials. Recently I transitioned to feature films and completed my first feature film Shroud.
Shroud involves a young Victorian wife traveling to Civil War America to find her husband who has gone missing on expedition in the untamed Arizona Territory in 1862. Arriving in the ghost town of Shroud, she quickly reveals the mystery of a serial killer who turns out to be a resurrected Spanish foot soldier condemned 300 years earlier by the 16th century conquistador Francisco Vásquez de Coronado.
I continue to prepare new projects for production through 2011 and have several projects from the $2M to $25M range and beyond. I am always interested in meeting new film professionals, talent, crew, producers and financiers.
As a Production Designer
As with writing, I have been an artist since childhood and have always served as Production Designer for my own features as well as for other directors. My passion for film is matched on by my passion for design. I have an eye for detail and enjoy creating lush, dense sets.
Through the years I have served as Creative Director to many companies, and currently own and operate Sandmerrick, Inc., a full-service web, information & technology and design firm in Dallas, Texas.
As a Fight Choreographer
I really only accept the role of Fight Choreographer for those films seeking a highly stylized and complex form of martial arts. In short, I don’t do bar brawls. Personally trained in several styles and weapons, I blend the elegant to the efficient and deliver fast, dazzling but ultimately brutal hand and footwork.
Feel free to download my film resume (listed in right column) and see if I am a good fit for your next project.
